MAC Blush Of Youth beauty powder vrs Benefit Dandelion

Dupe Alert!
Last week as I was admiring the prettiness of the Rose Romance beauty powder I had just brought it struck me how familiar the colour looked to something I already have.
Benefit Dandelion.
My sister brought me this product years ago and although I used it a lot for the first year it has been pushed to the side over time

Here is what Benefit say about it.
"Start your day the "perk-me-up" way, and keep them guessing how you look so pretty this early in the morning. Dust on our soft, pink, perk-me-up powder for instant radiance and a youthful appearance. It's the perfect shade of pink that brightens everyone's complexion without looking powdery or chalky."

Side by side...Mac on left benefit on right
Hardly any difference at all.
The only differences I could spot were Dandelion is far more pigmented and Blush Of Youth ever so slightly less peachy and more pink.

So, Blush Of Youth now sits prettily on my dressing table and Dandelion sits prettily on my cheeks!
I'm quite happy about this as every time I ran my 109 over the beautiful embossed rose I winced.

50's Pin up comp entry!

Just saw this comp by Sabrina at just a little obsessed and have been franticly applying make up for the past 20 mins.
I actually wore my make up like this last weekend so I thought I would copy what I did then.
I kept ALL colours matte as was the style back then!
Inspiration was Bettie Page.
Apologies for my hair! It would have looked much better if I had not left only three minutes to do it *Facepalm* :S

To dye or not to dye..

Recently I have been getting a bit miffed off with my hair.
I've basically had the same cut and colour since I was 15/16 and I think it might be time for a change.
Well ..not THAT much of a change actually.. *looks sheepish*
Anyway, This is my hair as it is at the moment.
Black, straight block fringe and long thanks to my lovely extensions (which i have also been getting done since I was 16..yikes!).
Please excuse the picture, I look awful but you get the general hairness. My gorgeous mate conk on the right :)

This is Lily allens hair in the Not Fair video
I'm thinking of going this colour and maybe getting my fringe taken out a bit like hers in the above photo.
I got my fringe done a bit like this last april, but not quite as thickly.
what do you think? Go for the fringe but stay black or go for colour as well?
Or no fringe but colour!
Opinions would be much appreciated!

Topshop haul

Little Topshop haulage gwan down!

I LOVE this vest. So pretty.
I think I'll wear it with a high waisted black tulip skirt, opaque black tights and a leather jacket.

I have wanted this Lauren Moshi vest for EVER but have not got round to buying it yet.
Lauren Moshi is amazing. I love her prints.

So for now I shall make do with these two...
Really bad pic, It's actually navy and the zebra head is made up of little gold stud type things.

Oversized zebra tee

Really not sure how to wear this one.. It's not long enough (or I'm not brave enough more like!!)
to be a dress so I'm not sure.

I also got some MORE aviators (I have a serious addiction to these things)
in a purpley brown colour.

Update

Bonjour mes amis!

I'm so sorry I have not been blogging for so long *slaps wrist* but I have been living in a house that is doing a very convincing impression of a squat and have only just found my camera charger.
And as for my laptop charger, it decided moving home was a little too stressful and with a parting cry of "Goodbye cruel world!" it died.
But I now have a shiny new charger and a pair of sofas. Things are looking up!

We are trying to get the whole house sorted by our deadline of june 1st as I'm hoping to get another chi pup before it starts getting cold.
I now have all my make up sorted out!.. but nearly all my clothes are still in boxes.
I've got my priorities straight as you can see.

Anyway I just wanted to give you all a quick update.
Hello and thank you to my new followers! <3
Hang in there I WILL be posting regularly again very soon.

Heaps of lurrvee.

Moving.

Hey girls,
I am currently in an Internet access joint.
yurghk!

Like a day after my last post we saw and fell in love with a gorgeous apartment overlooking the
sea and park in my dream area!
We are frantically trying to get everything moved over and it's been non stop since the 5th.
My make up collection is half here half there and I wont be getting my dressing table for god knows how long :(
But as soon as we have furniture of the desk sort and every things a little more settled I will try and pluck up the courage to do..videos!
argh! scary stuff.
But as I am in a light and airy place and there will be a mac computer I'm finding it hard to find an excuse not to.

I will hopefully have Internet on the 20th..I miss you lot!!
I need some normality back! haha

Hope you are all well and enjoying the sun!

Lashings of Lashes!

Please excuse hair plats, Pajamas and bed!
This was taken at about four am when we got back from my friends birthday drinks last week.

As I have said before I am a false lash feind and will wear them everyday if I have the time.
I picked up these ones in Superdrug the other day. I think they were around £4/5 each.
Eyelure are doing some beautiful L/E Tokyo lashes atm, really pretty, I brought the blue feather ones and wore them to a mates birthday (see above!). The girls loved em, well worth a tenner!
I have been wearing eyelure lashes for years and never had any problems <3.

Dreaded Lurgey

"blughhrruuhhggaaaaahmmmm" :(

Is exactly how I feel right now.
I'm sick!
I have a bad chest infection and I'm on antibiotics. Joy :|

Just thought I would drop everyone a wee blog to say sorry for not blogging, but I feel like death and not even slightly warmed up.

But! I have brought a few things, nothing too exciting.
I did however find a foundation light enough for me, although now obviously I'm wondering if it's just a little too light.. I will never be satisfied! I need to get my arse down to Prescriptives sharpish.

What is quite funny is it is the exact same foundation I wore when I was 16.
I've been applying it with my 187 brush and so far I'm really liking it.
I'm so into drugstore foundation at the moment, after years of paying £20 + for foundations I'm
loving that I can get two for that and play around and if I don't like it..whatevs!
I think maybe the 187 is a big factor.
I LOVE it.
I got a good dupe of it the other day as well.

Rambling again!

Well, hopefully soon I will be back to full health (HA) and blogging away.
Chase me up about the drugstore foundation and 187 dupe and mini drugstore haul when I'm back.
I'm very easily distracted and say I'll do stuff and get over excited by something else and forget completely! I do this in real life. It's a nightmare doing the weekly shop.

Hope everyone is full of the joys of spring!!
I'm off to watch horror films in bed with the ball and chain :D
xoxo

P.s Sorry for small insight into current lolcat obsession.
I know It's sad but I can't help myself.
I'm ill! I'm allowed! x

Mac Mineralize Eye Shadow - Illusionary Burning Ambition

One word to sum this up?
Gorgeous!
It's huge as well..
The same size as the Grand Duo blushes (of which I brought three, but thats another post!)
I Used it today and I really like how it came out.

I Used MAC Painterly paint pot as a base, Loreal Voluminous mascara, which I'm not
actually that keen on to be honest, and a tiny bit of Rimmel liquid eyeliner.
I Should have spent more time on the eyeliner but I wanted a really quick look
and I didn't really want the shadow to be swamped by tons of black eyeliner.
I'm a huge fan of winged eyeliner and wear it everyday, but I liked the shadow so much
I thought I would take it easy for once.
Underneath the eye I just smudged a bit of MAC Teddy eye kohl with my finger.

pretty pretty!

I <3 Marrakesh

Meet the Stila Eye Shadow Quad in Marrakesh and Nars lipgloss in Frisky Summer.

I LOVE the chocolate colour on the bottom right, it's gorgeous.

Frisky summer!
Flash

No flash
I'd say the colour was closer to the non flash photo, but a little less dark.

Furry chums!

Unfortunately last weekend while outside a pub in a happy drunken haze my cowboy ankle boot somehow got caught on a wooden bench and I flew arse over tit and ended up in the splits and hysterics. Hmm.

Some startled men lifted me up again and after checking I had not made holes in my leggins I skipped off to dance not realizing what doom awaited me.

My camera had war wounds and died...Sad times.

BUT I brought a shiny new camera today!
And it's pink! hurrah!
I was very worried I would not find another pink one you see..
It's a Sony Cybershot W210 and takes laaavllly pictures.

So I have been mucking about taking photo's of Minka and my cat Alabama (who is called bumbum by everyone for reasons unknown.) and I thought I would show you lovely lot some.

Whats everyone got planned for the weekend?

Friday 6 March 2009

"Quick! Call the Obese Police!"

Is what my sister shrieks every time our elderly and rather rotund cat Wolfgang
thuds into the room.
I think he realizes that this outburst is somehow connected to him and has started to look a bit disgruntled every time it happens.
Quite funny if you like that sort of thing.

But this is not a post about mentally abusing cats it is a post about hair!
Fat hair to be precise and these here products that promise hair of elephant proportions.

Behold Samys FAT HAIR "0" Calorie Thickening Spray
and the BED HEAD by Tgi Superstar range for Thick Massive Hair.
I brought the Conditioner, Sulfate free Shampoo and Blowdry lotion (the three on the left) yesterday.

Magic.

I am a sucker for anything that says it will plump up my hair as big hair is a big love of mine...
In fact big most things really.. (oh-er missus)

Big eyes, big lashes, big hair, big handbags, bit earrings etc
I think it must stem from some deep rooted belief that the bigger your hair/handbag/earrings the smaller you will look.

Admittedly I would need to throw my keys and purse into Father Christmas's sack and dangle some chandeliers off my ears to make a difference.. but I soldier on!

The Tigi stuff smells gorgoeus, especially the Blowdry lotion. So lovely.
The Fat hair spray smells good too, it reminds me of something i've smelt before but I
can't quite place it.

Anyone else tried these products?

Everyday Make Up

As I am such a kind and thoughtful person I Thought I would show you lovely lot how I wear my make up everyday!
what a fabulous treat for you all. :P

Regarde...

My everyday make up when I only have about 15 mins to get my face on.
I like to have 40 minutes to do my make up but this is not always practical apparently.

Sorry these pics are not very ..er facey
but I was taking some for facebook and thought I would pop them on here.

Eye eye! Har har! Why yes of course these are my real lashes.
*cough cough splutter*
ahem.

The ultra observant among you may have noticed that I always have a block fringe (had this babbeh for 4 years aint nothing coming 'tween us ya'll) and in the above photos I don't.
Well, I've been wearing extensions for years and have loads of old ones lying about so I decided to clip some into my fringe et voi la! A whole new look.
what do you think?

Full list of what I am wearing can be done if you wish but it's 4:36 am and I should be in bed snoozing instead of up, wearing false lashes and taking photos of myself.

I might edit this tomorrow night and put what I'm wearing.

So long, fair well, goodnight.
xoxo
